Universal Biometric driver is designed to communicate with PayPunch software with different types of biometric devices.
Pros: PayPunch is a Biometric Time Clock & Attendance tracking system that replaces the typical time clock used to track employees attendance. Instead of employees punching a time-card, they simply insert their hand into the reader and enter their employee number.
Pay Punch software accurately reports employee time/attendance to Payroll & PayPunch uses a biometric device that makes 96 discreet images of the hand and creates a sophisticated algorithm to generate and store a unique numerical template. Each time an employee scans his/her hand, a new number is generated and compared to the one on file. The device accurately identifies the employee and records their in/out transaction in the payroll database in about 1-second. This is non intrusive and the image of the hand cannot be recreated directly in anyway. That way it safeguards privacy of the information too.
Biometry is the statistical analysis of biological observations and phenomena. PayPunch uses a biometric device that recognizes each employee`s hand and records their time/attendance data to produce an accurate payroll in significantly less time. Several such devices are in use. The current application under discussion helps integrate with Pay Punch software of the same publisher. Universal Biometric Driver is designed to communicate PayPunch software with different types of biometric devices and data transferring to PayPunch database.
Cons: It is only possible to comment on the effectiveness of the software in a real life set up where several of these biometric devices are connected to the PayPunch system over a distributed network. That is possible only after it has been in use for some time.
Overall: Given these limitations and also the good reviews of the main Pay Punch software this integration piece is expected to be well tested and is rated at 4 star level.
